We suggest you visit the surgery and complete a holiday form as soon as you know you want to travel. Most vaccines need to be administered a minimum of 3 weeks prior to travel to build up your immunity. Some vaccines need to be given as a course over a period of time. If you are planning a long trip with many exciting destinations then the more forward planning the better. If you have a record of previous immunisations please bring it with you. If you were born overseas, have no record of previous immunisations, or missed out on childhood immunisations, then you could need more vaccines than you think to ensure that you are covered.
We recommend the following websites to read about diseases, vaccines and non-vaccine treatable diseases.

We also offer malaria prophylaxis advice, but we need a full itinerary to give accurate advice. Many exotic destinations require malaria tablets that need a private script: charge per person - £5. Some chemists also provide this service.
